Just realised my dynamo that came off the old engine is a 30 amp

Its a nearly new original bosch unit

Will it be fine on a 71 bus?

Only intend having the odd LED interior light. Use gas/mains hookup on sites anyway.

Engine its going on is a 1600tp stock?

Don't see the point of going alternator route when I have all the kit already.

Absolutely fine and OK. You will of course require a 30A dynamo regulator should that not be part of the kit?
If the dynamo has been unused for some time you may have to polarise it to get it restarted for the first time. Plenty of such info on here if required, or just ask.

Agreed. Have one myself and when you calculate led consumption there's no need for anything bigger than standard dynamo and battery (dont have any fancy sound or tv in my van)

I've been running dyno for years with a 85ah leisure battery never had any issues, even though people kept saying I need an alternator

Thanks for all the help guys!

Funnily enough I run a dynamo on the bug with an air ride compressor and it doesn't kill the battery!

Ive found the reg and looks ok (well exterior anyway)

Ill just hope it works!

Lots of bay owners run 30A generators. Don't forget that the 38A fan shroud plates, fan hub, & pulley are
different from the 30A gen versions.
