Hi - I`ve been gogin through my wiring and removed the indicator stalk as im putting in a new ignition.

When i dismantled it, i discovered 2 wires broken inside the mechanism - one is brown and the other is brown with a white bit on it. There is a large piece of solder on the mechanism where one has definitely broken off from but the i`m not sure which one or if both have broken off the piece of solder?

can anyone help? According to my wiring diagram, the brown with a bit of white is to go to the flasher relay and the brown goes to the dash cluster - looks like an earth?

here`s a couple fo pics -
sorry the best i could get on my mobile -

Hiya Mike,

Here you go....................

The brown wire gets soldered in place at the point of the yellow arrow.

The brown/white wire gets soldered onto the support frame just below the solder point for the brown wire. Sorry, I don't have a good picture of that point. However, if you look closely at the frame you should see that solder point - but perhaps you already have?

Since I bought my an back in '90, my flasher has always been a seperate switch on the dash - never thought of taking the indicator switch apart and trying to get original flash to work...will now!

Actually, if you take your time, notes, and pictures, working on the turn signal switch is really pretty easy. And like Mike, if you hit a pothole in the road all you have to do is to post up here and somebody will come along and help you out.

Yes. It took me a lot of head scratching before I found the stray wire under the dash. Plugged it onto the dash cluster and all was well again!
