I need a descent set of door handles for a 1968. The ones I have are pitted really bad and the chrome is coming off. I tried paint, but nothing in a rattle can seems to stick well enough to last on the doors. I did not want the expense of re-chroming. I tried the home powder coat, but the bondo bubbles up. Any place sell them, or anybody got a used pair they don't want and arm and a leg for? Suggestions on a paint process that will stick to pitting chrome?

I think pitted chrome looks better than painted chrome however they should be easy to get hold off second hand as they are the same as splitty handles. You can also buy them new with or without the lock barrels.
