71 bay rear arches

Hi,

Which rear arches would a 71 bay have? The early ones with a small 'lip' or later ones with more of a flare?

small flare. i never realy understood why vw flared them more as it doesnt realy give any extra clearance for your rear wheel

all the 71s ive seen have later arches... but i think they can be either.

Mine have late arches from factory, i assumed the change was to give more clearance?

The redesigned rear brake/hub set up also had a wider track, so I think it accomodates that .... but as said, thats a reason, not an excuse!
