Like his seats on that late bay - looks nice and up to 40 bids :shock: - that early also looks good too, says never welded but looks like the floors have had a respray? Unless they are that clean :?:

It could be an early bay - looks like the front panel has been replaced with a later one.

Not sure what makes it 'rare' though!!

Ah yes, The Old Volks Home in Rugby!! :lol: These are only my views as i found them at the time.....

I went to view a restored bus before i bought mine, that was a "customers car" which they were selling on there behalf...??
It looked pretty from close up, my girlfriend loved it - but on close inspection, body gaps were inconsistent, body lines were filled over "some people prefer it like that" he said......., there was filler and shoddy welding of wheel arches with rough welds visable. A quick plate over plates underneath with copious amounts of waxoil hiding lord knows what.
I don't know if this was really a customers bus - they had worked on it they said but when i said about the rough welding and finish on the wheelarches they said "it had been done by someone else" You could see filler all down the inside of the door shut and front clip area. Though it could have been another customers bus, but far too many alarm bells were ringing for me - i walked well away, unfortunately some poor soul would have bought it. Dont get me wrong, interior wise it was lovely, but bodywork, a quick tart up with some new panels and spray brings to mind - anyway, i am sure it was a customers car, but as a business i wouldn't want anyway associating me with a rough vehicle? Funny how every one of there busses always has a little roof rack, chequered floor and white wall flaps - just like the "customers bus" i looked at. And this was being advertised on ebay with Gemma as the owner for some years. To be honest it just sounded like a trader trying to pass of a bus as someone elses.

As always, if you are going buy any bus, buyer beware - buy from someone on this forum and i'm sure you'll get a cracking deal without anything hidden! Like why is this not being advertised as a trader on ebay?

Oh and the 69 he has, it's a 70.......

Bloody hell, for once I've just read a complete thread on Vzi and what a thread!!

I remember seeing a bus very similar to this for sale about 18 months ago in Rugby on ebay and the story just didn't stack up as it was someones bus for sale but it was at the restorers, is this the same bus or dealer?

I'm guessing this sale went wrong. There's no sign of the auction now and if it was the old volks home selling it their ebay shop has been deregistered.
Hopefully there is'nt some unhappy customer out there now.

Yep it is, so why would you deregister, remove all your ads etc and then repost under a new user name with the same description except for a new steering box??

I don't think you can remove all your adds from EBAY, you have to do something bad and be kicked off and then they remove all trace of you. Something like trading off Ebay, or being a trader and not declaring it, or selling doggy goods. Hmmm I wonder which one?

I'd hazard a guess at all of the above.............he is definatly a trader, i have seen his business - and his vans, and funny how a lot of his stuff gets removed at the last minute due to a problem - i have seem him do this many times before, and as for dodgy, well we wont go there.........

People will still get taking in unfortunately. :roll:
