advice on removing DORMOBILE bunks please ......

Hi all,
On the back of another thread currently running on here, I've been given a suggestion that may provide a solutuion. I have a cunning plan to replace the original material on the canvas bunks. I need to slide the old material off and replace it by slipping some new ones over the poles, the problem is... how do the 6ft long poles come away from the scissor mechanism?

I've had a look and it looks like they are welded in place although I can't see Dormobile welding the frame then stitching the material around it!!.anyone taken them apart before??

done this today. when you drill out the rivets they come apart (with the help of a hammer) only one of the rivets is holding it, but you need to drill out the other rivet to get the canvas off.
