Hi Guys,
I'm in a bit of a predicament with my registration. I thought registering an import vehicle in N.I. would be pretty much the same as the guides I've read on here and other aircooled sites but I was wrong. Once the tax office got the all clear from NOVA and Interpol on the vehicle they said they could only give me a new registration number and not an age related one. To get an age related number I need to contact The Association of Old Vehicle Clubs NI. I'll paste in what the guy said is involved:
"Yes you would need to retrieve all the documents from the Tax Office.
I receive the documentation and provided it is in order pass everything to an inspector usually within 48 hours who in turn would phone the owner within another 48 hours to make an appointment within 7 days.
Once this is done the paperwork comes back to me and we then forward on to Coleraine within 48 hours.
After that the process can take from a matter of days to weeks depending on how busy they are and if they bring up any queries."
To add to this I've realised the shipping agent never sent on the title which I need for an age related number so I have to get in contact with them and get them to send it on.
Now I thought I'd be driving my Bus this weekend and I don't have a daily driver at the moment so I'm weighing up whether to just get the modern plate or hold out possibly a month which will cause me to miss my first car show in the bus (DubShed).
So I was wondering what you guys would do if you were in the situation?, if any of you's are running modern registration marks and would the modern reg lower the value of the vehicle.
If you've got to the bottom of this congrats and thanks!
