So after taking a year out in 2024 after our move ‘Up North’ we are back for 2025 with our next Aircooled Campout, We have found a new location at the Lancashire Mining Museum with easy access from the Motorway network.
It’s not a campsite as such but the Museum which is a registered charity and are raising funds to maintain/restore the headgear has a large field behind the Museum which will be the site for our Campout.
The Museum has restored the 3,300 hp twin tandem compound steam winding engine and this will be running on the Sunday of the campout (We might be able to get it running on the Saturday as well for additional funds) The train ride on site will also be open on the Sunday, for more details about the museum please visit their site: https://lancashireminingmuseum.org/
This event is based on the successful formula of the Earlybay & Aircooled Campouts we have run for the last few years and we would like to stress this is not a commercial venture to make money, its all about getting owners of aircooled vehicles together for a weekend. Camping is for Aircooled Vehicles only.

Such a shame it's even further now. Was 4 hours now who knows.
Not going to get there this time round.

Sorry, we carried on for one year once we had moved North and the attendance was down, as you are aware this isn't a money making venture all we do is cover our costs, the previous site is a 280 mile round trip for us now and theres a fair bit of planning involved and visits required to site to sort bits out, I've already been to the new site 3 times since November.

You could always combine it with a trip to the lakes or similar and make a longer trip out of it.
