i have just swapped my dynamo for a 75A alternator and have followed the wiring instructions to the book

now when my engine is running the alternator light is on but as soon as the revs rise the light goes out.

anyone got any ideas? i have checked belt is tight enough

please help cos i am even more useless with electrics!!!

This is whats known as a lazy alternator, mines the same, blip the throttle slightly and it goes out and dosent come back on. I suspect the cure would be a new alternator but not %100 sure

i dont think it does but too be honest i didnt let it idle for me to check

i will do that on monday

anyone got any ideas what it could be?

I have the same on mine that I put in about 16 months ago, never really thought too much about it, just blip the throttle and it's gone.

Done plenty of miles and camping trips and it charges the main battery and leisure battery no problem.

It's one of the down-sides of a non-recomended method of wiring the stator to get 75 Amps from a unit designed for 55 Amp. Technically know as high cut-in speed. Peter Good
