Ok I'm getting a bit miffed with the stuff that is not working as it should but I'm sure with the help of peeps on here 'we'll' get through it and stuff 
rant and moan over!
so I thought whilst tuning my Dells that the engine sounded odd? a rumble from the bottom end I feared *Gulp* and heavy heart!
But no it's the alternator - if I do an endfloat style tug on the top pulley there is 1mm approx of fore and aft movement....is this something that can be shimmed out? I have had the fan off for painting but sure it was ok........
so is it new alternator time or do I need to shim up somewhere???
