please forgive this post but it is hard to describe a noise

when i drive my van seems to have a very low dull beating noise, it sounds like a metal sheet is wafting as we drive along.

it doesn't happen at any particular speed or revs and its gets so loud that is is hard to speak to the person on the passenger seat

when you apply the clutch when it starts to happen it contiunes but alot quieter,

juist to note my van is tuned and the front wheel bearings have just been replaced

thinkings hats on

If the front wheel bearings have been replaced, have they been set up according to your manual or according to the local mechanic or worse still, MOT tester. If so then they will have a short but happy life.

is it emminating from a particular area, is it tinny or deeper more resonant, do you have belly pans or under pedal tray?

I had the same problem. Bloody annoying noise when driving the bay.

Found it dissapeared when I left the missus at home

  i get that

If it a quite load deep thud, its a long shot but it could be coming from the front beam. Try pumping it full of grease and see if you still get the sound after driving it fo a bit

is there any vents, windows open? sometimes you get a thudding noise wneh the windows are open or a vent slightly cracked open.

no belly pans or pates under my van at all

it seems to come from the rear of my van i think, am going to try to take it out this weekend and really try hard to pin point the noise

will try every thing you have suggested and get back to you
