I had no experience of LHD (other than a hire car for a few days abroad) when I bought my last bay. I was a bit nervous to start with, but I found I took to it fairly quickly, though admittedly I didn't cover many miles in it during the time I owned it. :)
I did find at first I kept groping with the wrong hand for the petrol stirrer!

Half the battle with driving LHD is to have the largest mirrors that you can stand cosmetically and to set them up so that you can just see the side of the van and as much road as pos. I hope this makes sense . Dont worry, you`ll get used to it.

Paying at toll bridges can be nerve racking if you don't have a passenger. You gotta take your seatbelt off, jump over to the passenger seat, roll down the window, give the money, roll up the window, go back to drivers seat, put your seat belt back on..........and in the meantime, the angry van driver behind you is gripping the steering wheel and grimacing in anger. I've learned that its physically impossible to put your seat belt on while driving.

Why not take some tube and 'slide' the coins down to awaiting hand from the drivers seat?

;)

Or you could emigrate to Victoria, the only tolls we have here are taken electronically with a bizzo on the windscreen called an eTag.
No boom gates or any of that 19th century carry on!

I had the same kind of journey when i picked my LHD westy up from deepest Devon. Make sure you have your AA card, wooly hat and gloves, coat and a spare can of fuel in case the gauge reads wrong. Then sit in the left hand lane on the motorway. Have Fun!! :p
Oh and make sure both side mirrors are set up well so you can see down each side of yer van. If you have a passenger it helps if they can check the blind spot when overtaking slow lorries on the motorway

I was gonna post something funny but did not want it to be inapropriate (spelling) So, insert funny American LHD sarcasm here.

Good Luck on the other side of the cab.

I got my LHD Panel Van a couple of months ago and when i am driving alone i try to approach junctions at an angle so i can see whats happening as being a PV i dont have side windows like a camper to see out of :?

As for overtaking     NEVER
