Not sure best place to put one. It seems a bit cramped to go flat at the side of the engine bay but possibly horizontally across the left wheel arch would work. You have to specify horizontal or vertical mount before ordering. Anybody got any experience or photos of fitting one in an early bay? Thanks

here's mine, but Aaron knows everything about these

There fairly small and there is plenty of room in the average engine bay but you'll need to consider what else you have in there, eber, leisure battery etc.......

I personnally have the roof mount kit that hopefully will be fitted this week, if the snow ever stops, horizontal and vertical it doesnt matter when specifying as it is essentially the same, however the roof will fit in all 3 orientations, its just that the meter is positioned in relation to the pick up pipe so when suspended from the roof the meter can be easily read.

The main issue is really what substance you want to use, theres only 2 to pick really AFFF or dry powder, both very messy and effective in an engine bay, if the dry powder is your medicine of choice then remember to shake up the bottle every now and again prefferably part of your regular maintenance.

Whilst your at it change all your fuel lines, pointless installing it if your gonna set it off within a few weeks.

If you need contact details or more info give me a call, I cant see another group buy going ahead so you'll not get the benefit of 40% discount but even at full cost its worth the piece of mind.......

I was working on a tank to fit into the spare wheel well but the cost for non standard bottle just wouldnt be cos effective sadly....

Thanks for that. I have the original cardboard/foam attached to the roof of the engine bay so was wondering how the extinguisher fastens to the roof. Are you going to drill through this Aaron or will zip ties round the holes be strong enough?
I have l just replaced all the fuel lines the last couple of evenings and that got me thinking about the fire extinguisher!
Cheers

How many are needed to get the discount Araon? I would be interested if enough others are.

I'm ditching the fibre board and will be sound proofing/insulating in the cargo area that way I can fix it straight to the tin....

your gonna need to rally 15 - 20 people, he'll only arrange delivery to a single address as well, that said it will be a single delivery fee of £15 whether 1 or 100 are ordered. So you need to arrange your own distribution but remember their classed as haz goods so cant go through the post and most courriers wont touch them.... so shows etc are the best way.....You'll need to register as a company/club with him (you could always go through me for that).
