So does anyone know where you can get long travel ball joints for Bay's and how much? I thought these were only available for beetles and don't think I've ever seen any for buses?

Your right. I was thinking along the same line but nobody seems to do them. You'd have thought they'd sell like hot cakes really considering the problems that can occur when you go too low.

long travel bus ball joints dont exist AFAIK.

I had a long talk with the guys at red9 about the system, the bolts, the stresses on the towers, whether any had failed etc. I was very impressed, i was talking to the son i think. Ill definitely be combining this with a narrowed beam and dropped spindles.

yes, you can have the tie bars custom made to length for a little extra, they have already produced 2" and 4" narrowed bars.

I think we are thinking the same thing? :D

4" narrowed beam, no adjusters, dropped spindles and Red9 kit?

I'd only need to go 2" as the Porsche rims tuck under nicely!

4" is a bit extreme for even me!

;)

ill be fitting flatfour slot mags i believe they sit out quite a bit i just hope it doesnt look like a robin reliant, im not a big fan of too narrow i just dont want any scrub :D

I'd be interested to see how that works out with none of the stiffness caused by shorter leaves, in theory it should work great...

Bump.

I have a couple of hundred miles up on my bus now, dropped 4" on the EZ kit - rides brilliantly, sails over speed ramps etc.
I have not adjusted the damping much, it was a little bouncy so I put it on the softest setting and it glides, might turn it up
a few clicks to see how it goes.

My rear shocks are like bicycle pumps at the moment so when the new ones arrive I'll start adjusting and testing.

nice to know that, i got a red 9 set 1 year old and hardly used of ebay for £49, worth a punt i thought :D , i wont be fitting it anytime soon but it will go on until i can afford the franklin narrowed porsche beam and spindles.

What shape was your beam in before you fitted and were the shock bolts special hi tensile ones?

Whole underside of the bus is mint, I used 8.8 high tensile M12x90 bolts as suggested by Red9.

Take a trip down to Eirespares on the 19th and have a look.

i definitely going to try to get there Justin, hoping i can get an MOT before that :) . Did you have any luck with wendy? i mean did she call or meet up?
