Are there any legal implications changing the speedo?

I'm looking to change the complete dash/speedo pod on my bay for 1 i bought, mine is cracked under the heater controls where the PO over tightened the screws :( , but the new speedo will show a different mileage, (unless theres a way to change the mile-o-meter :?: ), but will this cause any issues come MOT time?
My current speedo shows (1)12500'ish but the new speedo shows 68,000 ish.
Am i being over cautious or will there be an issue?
Also concerned about insurance as i had to tell them the mileage as part of the limited mileage policy i have.

just swap the speedos over

failing that, connect your speedo cable (or preferably the end of a knackered one to save much faffing about) to your electric drill and settle down with a good book

*good luck*

yeah piece of piss to take out, wouldn't worry about it though why would the MOT guy / lady (you never know) check that?.... or do they

Just changed mine and you've got me paranoid now!

it's that bastard long since i took mine for an MoT that i can't remember  but yeah, they list the mileage on the certificate don't they ?

to be honest with you, it's like everything isn't it... there are ways and means, loopholes, scams and all the rest of it, but i like my odometer to show how many miles my bus has done... it's even more important when you bring insurance companies into it

All the elements are easily broken down so a swap is a mere 10 minute affair, putting a low mileage speedo in is ok as long as you are not attempting to pass it off as a lesser mileage vehicle to acquire a higher price (it doesnt really count for most of our treasured vehicles, I doubt that my bus has only done 16K) , yes they record the mileage, you can get the mileage set to whatever you want through any number of clock repairers....

Been playing with the spare dash i have and didn't realise how easy to swap the clocks was  , will remove my dash next week (or sooner if i can get the stupid hot & cold levers out :x ) and swap my speedo over

the levers are easier to get out than the speedo

he's right you know (again)

look under the dash and you will see little white clips holding the levers in, spray a little WD40 on them and then with a pair of long nose pliers you will be able to squeeze the clips out one by one...piiing as it fly's across the bus. The levers will just slide out then.

I have known dubious people run two clocks on limited milage insurance policies ...... :rolleye0016:

I reset the mileage to zero on my bug, only for my own record. I didn't try to sel it with only 3000 genuine miles on it :stonehim:
