Had a trial fitting with my axle stands last night in prep for my beam removal. My stands at their highest setting still slide underneath the chassis rails with about a 1/4 inch to spare.

Ironically I'll have to lower the bus onto the axle stands so that the bus ends up being lower on stands then it is on its wheels. Then I can start work on the beam.

I'll chock the rear wheels as the bus will be on a slight (slight) incline, not much I can do about that but I'll have two sets of stands two trolley jacks and I'll also place the two front wheels under the front of the bus, just to be safe. Ohh and my fingers will be crossed.

Wish me luck ;)

I did this last week. Two jacks, one for the van, one for the beam, two sets of stands, one for the beam, one for the van .... it got more complicated than it needed to!

My beam almost dropped out when unbolted - lovely job. I took a beam from a UK van a few weeks ago which took an awful lot of persuasion with a length of scaffold bar!

When I took the bolts out of my beam they still had the factory oiling on them ;)
