Baby seats in campers

Hi all, just tried fitted my baby seat into the van and it seems the front belts are not long enough, the rear belts seem too short aswell.

What are my options for fitting the seat?
What set ups have People got going on?

Bit annoyed, I wanted to take the newborn out for her first trip in the camper and a stroll along the seafront

Replace the rear belts, you can get 2 & 3 point statics for less that £20 for halfords and replace the fronts for inertia type then the baby can go in either.

I've got new belts all round (they were fitted by karmann konnection when I got the van)
Problem is that they are not long enough to wrap around the baby seat, am I right in thinking that the T4 belts are the same but longer?

Am thinking about maybe getting a seat belt extension for the rear aswell, gives an extra 40cm which should work out well.

Hi mate
I used a securon 264 in the back for my
4 year old,Which is plenty long enough.
The 1 year old goes in a britax car seat which
Specific for lap belt fixing.

I had the same issue and replaced my passenger seat belt with a longer one. It fits the same mounting and the buckle is the same so only need to change the reel. If you fit a seatbelt extender, it should do the job

Securon 227 or 228. I used these before i got custom made ones from the USA

Cool, I've just ordered a longer front seat belt aswell as a seat belt extension, do you think maybe I could use my old short front belt (brand new) in the rear ? The current rear is a thre point belt but not retractable type.

Yes, that may well fit ok,, though it's awkward to find a reel to fit out of the way if you are using a westy bed. I just have a fixed 3 point in the rear

Yes, the T4 belts are the same design, just much longer.. this is exactly what I used to install my daughters seat on the front passenger..

I now have the Britax Eclispe child seat which, and I could be wrong, but is the only seat on the market at the moment that requires ONLY the lap belt, so no need to replace the rears with 3 point belts for a few years at least!

Well I fitted a t4 belt in the front and all is now good, just need to get hold of a belt extension for the rear now so the little one can sit back there on longer journeys.
