Hey everyone!

Meet Barbara! A 1971 US Westy Campmobile. Two previous owners and hailing from Santa Barbara, California. Imported and collected after arriving from LA docks on January 9th 2014. She was originally L90D Pearl White and came with a heap of historical documents, spare bits and pieces and most of her original camper equipment including Coolbox, Westy Stool, Mozzy Net and Screens and Cot Bed, all in pretty good condition.

The bus was registered after replacing the worst parts the cab floor which had rotted in places and i am please to say she passed her MOT on her second attempt due to some minor, secondary issues.

We spent the summer last year getting to know her, spending a few nights away here and there and visiting some shows to gauge what we wanted to create in her restoration.

Here are some photos of the initial state of the bus, the start of the restoration, some pictures of our first night away and the inspiration behing our new paint scheme. The late Autumn until Christmas was spent completely stripping out of the interior and engine. Our bus was picked up on January 12th and is currently in the body shop getting everything nice and straight before some shiny new paint. Rather than showing pictures of the strip down I am going to post restoration pics of things like the Jalousie Window Refurbs, Spalsh Pans etc and from when the fun begins....putting her back together (which should hopefully begin in earnest around Mid-March).

Today we travelled down the Bromsgrove Autotrimmers and picked the new upholstery material for our Westy Interior. Big thanks to Angie who was very helpful :D

Quite tidy stock engine although recently discovered carb elbow is split and seals are perished in oil cooler and flywheel. Replacemets being collected at Dubfreeze.

Next major piece of welding work...offside battery tray and repair panel and....

Cargo floor nearside half and 'Top Hat' section

Our first night away! :)

The inspiration behind our new colour scheme!

Thats all for now, more to follow soon.
