I've had to stip the paint back to bare metal on my sliding door because somebody hand painted it and it was rough. I used paint stripper what do I need to use to clean the metal before I fill dents and paint. Do I need to buy anything or Ican I use sprits.
Was a bit disapointed to find a rust free door from Africa was rust free but had quite a few largish dents with a fair bit of filler.

If you are going to be doing any more in the future, its worth getting some panel wipe... can get it from any auto paint retailer (even get it sent by post on ebay). Smaller containers of IPA from somewhere like Maplin will also do.

Cheers,
Pad

Dont worry about the odd dent and filler, after all these years they are bound to have had a knock, the main thing is that there is no rust, Early doors are getting rarer these days.

Just make sure once the paint is off to etch prime them asap. Good luck

Remember they will need keying up before you apply any primer or filler as you haven't used an abrasive in the paint removal process.
