Beach Camping

Just come back from a week in Newquay. I slummed it this time in a hotel but saw loads of vans parked overlooking Fistral beach. Despite the 'no overnight camping' signs, the road opposite the Bay and Esplanade hotels was full. Mainly surf boys in their T4s though with the odd EB.
What's the situation in the summer months? Do the parking police check?

yo can park there without any problems, we live in penzance (about 30 miles away) and have parked there for a few nights after parties etc, just dont play music loud etc. never ever had any problems always full of overnight dubs. come down to marazion and park next to st micheals mount for free and not a single sign to worry about 8)

I've stopped up there in my works van when board masters was on no one seemed to bother guess your not really hurting anything are you
