Beam adjusters appear to be stuck!

Well the beam is off and on the bench. Managed to free up the top adjuster and clear why it would move, metal on metal! Poor workmanship :( adjuster not even on straight.

Looking now how to go forward :/

Good idea though beam is now off, though may use this method for bottom adjuster, the top was put of badly :/

I got a piece of 7/8" square base from local metal supplies. This will fit through your centre adjuster and you can turn the end using a spanner (and scaff pole). Works a treat although you have the hassle of removing the spring leaves etc

Lol same here mate. I just wanted to put it back to norm ride height and I got dropped spindles.

I had to get the bar especially billeted it wasn't expensive though. I think it's about 1.5metre long 7/8" square. £12 rings a bell. The longer the better I suppose as you can get more clearance in the wheel arch if your ever doing it in situ

Not really sure what to do now as in don't want to put the beam back on as is. Having to force the adjusters round due to poorly provisioned holes doesn't give me options to adjust with easebwhen back on :/

Is the beam adjuster crooked, or has the slot been cut wonky?

Either way, I think the only option is to cut it off, make good whatever you need to, and then get it re-welded. You might get away with grinding a bit out of the adjuster on the inside to give you the clearance you need, but it'll probably take a while and you risk causing damage and getting swarf in the beam.

New beam time if you can't be bothered with the hassle??!

The beam adjuster isn't on straight but not really an issue, its more to do with the metal burrs when the holes were drilled and that's what scored the centre piece when moving it round. Will have another look tomorrow night and make a decision. Thanks for the help brother
