Hi All,

I'm after for some tips on removing the v-belt. Had an alternator conversion a while back by my local vw spot. Just servicing the items that a man with limited mechanical skills can tackle and struggling in getting the pulley nut undone and stopping it from turning :0( !

Cheers
Craig

Look at the back of the pulley and you will see a notch. Stick a largish screwdriver between the notch and the pulley and that will stop it spinning. Same on refit. I think you can get a proper tool to hold it from buttys bits as well

Butty's bit's pulley tool is a must in the tool box. No affiliation , just bought one.

Usually a screwdriver for me or if you have balls of steel this method works well . Haven't had the nerve myself lol
