Hi Folks, What are the benefits of fitting a lightened flywheel? I'm looking to get a bit of extra oomph when going up hills in Cornwall. Many thanks. Deano

Benefit- From standstill, you'll have more torque available, so faster from the lights.
Drawback- You'll have less inertia at speed- so up long hills you'll lose power faster.

Lightened Flywheels are good for lighter weight higher revving vehicles.

In a camper people generally stick with standard weight. lightened will make a beetle more free revving.

When you take your foot of pedal revs will drop quickly with lightened, heavier flywheels revs drop slowly.

pointless, fit some twin 40’s and a better exhaust if you want more useable power.
