Lacquer or just wax? My US import has a few patina rust spots and I want to make sure they don't get any bigger, what's the best method/product?

Actually I've bought some Collinite 476S - Super Doublecoat Auto Wax on reviews from here. I'll update with my findings.

I bought Collinite 476S and have blitzed everything I own with it.
The bus has had three coats of Collinite on glass, dormobile roof, rubbers, all round the doors and door seals, everywhere. Its brilliant.
Amazing finish, easy to use, I cut up a sponge, wetted it slightly, rung it out and dobbed on a little at a time to one panel only. E cloth to get it off when your finger doesnt drag thru the wax.
Dont do too much on the sponge and dont do more than 1 panel or area at a time.
I tested it on my A6 Audi too with Aston Martin factory polish. Collinite wins hands down for shedding water and dust and now my Audi looks gay in the rain and under the street lights.

Camper looks amazing with 3 coats on it. Even my neighbours are asking what Ive shone the bus with.

We need pics

3 coats. F*@k me. 1 coat was enough of a ball break for me.

I take it you don't have a wife or kids.

Any white marks on the rubber? This sounds almost to good to be true. I use Poorboys and it is really great but it leaves white marks on the rubber if you don't pay attention.

Is this Collinite 476S something to go with??? :?:

Can you use this Collinite on a resprayed van? I have a few rust spots appearing that i don't mind but want to keep them like that.

Didn't realise this had replies. My wax has arrived but (typical) it's rained since. As soon as I get a bit of sun I'll give it a good waxing ;)

Can't wait to see it shine!

As in its lifting the paint? Wax won't help as its rusting from the inside out.

Good point. How do I stop the rust then. What is the best rust killer?

Find out what is going on behind the panel for a start. Strip both sides of the panel to bare metal with a flap disc and see whats left. Be prepared to weld in some patches. Then its a case of etch priming, filling, high build primer and topcoat. Waxoyl on the back of the panel afterwards is a good idea to.

How long has your van been in paint for? Was there any guarantee on the paintwork when you had it done?
