Hello all,

I pulled my backing plates off to rebuild my front end and put them in a rust converter bath for now. Planning on painting them with etch primer, normal primer and black paint. Quesation is do I need to keep the area where it touches the steering knuckle clear? Is the paint combo ok? I've nver really had to paint...

Question for installation do you put anthing between steering knuckle and backing plate such as grease to keep it from rusting?
Also do you put some sealant around the outside edge of the steering knuckle where it ends on the backing plate, there was some on there when I took them off.

Cheers

Andy

Helloes,

Has nobody repainted and installed their brake backing plates?

Does the outsidside where the bearing goes need to be paint free!

What did you do the the surfaces touching between steering knuckle and plate?

Cheers
