Brake compensator rebuild

Having problems with my brakes and only thing I didn't change/check was the brake compensator, so here goes a strip down (rebuild to follow when I have the new parts I need):

Remove the compensator from the body and under the bolts. Nothing will ping out, but keep an eye on where things go:




Bolts undone and contents emptied (note the 'cross' on the round disc goes towards the ball-bearing). There is a thin paper gasket between the two halves that will need renewing:




Forgot to undo this top valve in the pictures above. Here it is below:




Looks like the ball-bearing has worn away this rubber seal inside the chamber. Not sure what to do about this bit though. Any ideas?:




All the metal bits are soaking in solvent at the moment. Rebuild will be done when I can track down some solutions to the seals/gaskets.
 
Have you tried running that part number via VW heritage ?
They have a classics NOS section I believe.
 
Good idea. It's a Girling part apparently and has also been used on Lancia's and Rolls Royce's! Got some other suppliers looking too
