Just thought as someone has re-addressed this thread would update it.
In the end i went for a weber (original) progressive 32/36 and teamed it with a single quiet pack exhaust. Compared to the stock set up it is superior. Think i got lucky though as i managed to get a complete weber kit (manifolds, filter etc) for £100 (off another forum (and not VZI)) which was also jetted for a 1600 .It also came with the carb accelerator bracket to allow full throttle (a common problem with these carbs). The only thing i did buy extra was a set of pre-heat pipes but these were only about £15.
I know people say avoid these carbs but to be honest if you cant afford twins then i would recommend these over stock any day!

this thread is of great interest to me as i have a knackerd brosal pict34, i have just ordered a billet petronix dizzy from machine 7 and need to know what twin carbs to go for, i read baby dells being mentioned, what are baby dells?
Iknow they are small dellortos but what size are they? and where can i get them from?
sorry to interrupt
dan
