hi peeps.
anyone ever fitted a faulty or heard of faulty clutch release bearings :?
had a new one fitted last summer and done 100 miles and i had a whine when clutch pedal push down/engine warm.
had a thread on here last autumn about it and the collective said about gland nut so i pulled the engine and changed it.
drove van for first time saturday and after a few issues with carbs and 15mins later the whine was back.
do you reckon it could be release bearing being faulty? should i run it awhile longer to see if it gets better(hoping   )
or will i do damage/can it explode or disintergrate/seize if i leave it.
it's quite a loud whine, almost embarressing to hear.
could it be i got to pressure on pedal, what is the reccommended play on pedal before clutch engages/disengages.

thanks in advance.

Yes - some new release bearings are total *****. I've known them to be noisy from day 1. Replace it with one made by LUK.
You should have around 3/4" free play before the clutch starts to operate - that's 20mm in new money.

thanks for the reply bj1 :p
is that 20mm from top of pedal travel(i.e. when you start to press it down)or from the bottom when you let it up?
thanks.
