Couple of interior questions

Just on with sorting my interior out, I've sound deadened all the relevant places, just wondering what people have done on the top bit upto the back door, carpet over the sound dead? Wood on it then carpet? Gonna end up with a step at the back if too much stuff goes down...






Also, I'm gonna take on the daunting task of putting a new roof lining up and trimming the pillars, how do you attatch the over head storage to the back? Any fixings need adding before roof liner? Also, any templates for these or can ya buy them?

There's a feature on this in the latest issue of VW Camper and Bus. For the area you're asking about they recommend a thick barrier mat laid on top, doesn't need to be stuck down and then I suppose you can cover it with carpet or ply if you like!
