Anyone know why Creative no longer offer the steering kit for the T2?
Is there an improved version coming soon?
I have asked but have not had a reply
The only other alternative seems to be to send off my current box for a rebuild...
unless you can help?

Theres a company in london that can rebuild them for you

have a look on hear in the search

or mega bug do recon ones for about 250

leon

Volksheaven do pretty good recon ones. They're cheaper than Megabug too. They cost £180 with £100 surcharge refundable upon receipt of your old box.
I've got one fitted in my bus and it's alright. I'd still be happier to have a steering rack though

Yeah, because they don't bloody fit!!!!!

I'm not going to go on a rant but I had one fitted to my Bay by a good friend who is a very experienced VW mechanic and works for a very up market restoration shop (non VW) and you would'nt believe the problems they had and even had to have an additional bush specially made. When I complained to Creative they were'nt interested and basically said it was the garage where I was having it done that did'nt know what they were doing........ try telling that to customers of cars worth in many cases over £250k...

And now it seems that Creative have stopped advertising them for early Bays and only do a "Danbury" version.

All said though it's fitted and makes a big difference.

Just my experience

I'm not going to put Creative down but I do have issues with their Early bay Steering Rack

The split one is amazing and works a treat, but when I spoke to Dave about the Bay one, he was very defensive and unreasonable. He did calm down once I talked him round. All I was asking was if he would look at changing the design so it would fit a low bus, I even offered to buy 10 of them.

Sort him out Jon, we NEED them sorted

I think Valley Gas Speed Shop are looking to develop a steering rack for bays.

They already do them for splits, which only took them a few months to develop as Jimmy knows what he's doing.

I have spoken with Ellie at Valley Gas about this, and they need a good solid bus to work on for a few weeks/ months to make this happen.

If there is enough interest in this, I'll contact them and see what can be sorted
:)

I would definately be interested Steve  Sure Moody would be too

Steve

I'm sure I could find a bus or two to lend them if they want to have a play??

Does sound tempting to have a proper steering rack - will follow with interest ;)
