Damn!

Reversed into a stupidly high metal barrier in the car park this morning, smashed the bottom off the pimp dark red Hella tail light that has only been fitted for a couple of months, dented the edge of the tailgate aperture and actually ripped the metal underneath the light where the barrier dug in.

I'm really pissed of with myself, I know it's all fixable but would really rather be doing positive things to the van instead of having to do this.

Rubbish.

That rip looks bad - the metal shouldn't do that so it looks like a repair
has failed to me :?

The rear quarters have been done on the van at some time before we got hold of it so it may be the seam line I guess.

I walked up the car park to take another look at it which is when I took the pictures, then felt annoyed enough with myself to walk away from it again rather then stop, move the van forward to open the tailgate and look inside.

The annoying thing is that the only reason I was in the van this morning was because I was coming to work early to do some free overtime and get stuff finished, so it feels like it's a loser all round today. :(

feel for you matey, bummer....

even worse when you do it yourself as well, i'd be kicking myself, big time...

But hey, sounds like you can fix it yourself, so that's good.

everything is fixable.....

thats a boo dude :( we have all done something similar tho

On seconds thoughts dude, I would say that your van is a bit of a right off and I dont mind coming to take it of your hands for a tenner :D anything to help out a mate

Is'nt that just the way, you go out of you way to help someone and in the end you end up losing out yourself :?

At least you have the whole of the winter to sort it out though  Also you did'nt hit someone else!

Well I must say that's bloody decent of you, I'll meet you by the tree in the park next to the bin under the sky at oclock tomorrow and we'll settle the deal

Its not to serious fella it will be put right in no time :D

True, combination of paint and rice pudding should fix it over the weekend as a quick fix, and I guess the rear quarter could do with replacing anyway at some point.
Feeling less annoyed with myself now, problem shared 'n all.

:)

oh poor van,
not too bothered about you, you'll be fine.
poor van, so innocent and you go and do that

I know, I did actually feel quite guilty like I'd hurt it, probably the same feeling as you'd have if you stood on your pet rabbit. :D

(Hypothetical, I don't have a pet rabbit, please don't call the rspca  )

That really is a bummer mate. It's so frustrating when you've done it yourself. But it could have been worse and I'm sure you'll have it fixed up soon.

Is there any way you could take advantage of the situation and do something else while you are there? Or maybe you could get a nice pressie for your van to say sorry for bashing it's bum.

Sprouty
