I tend to cruise at 55mph, or thereabouts. My van will sit at 70 quite comfortably, but it uses more fuel, and I'm in no hurry :)

stock 1600TP, stock air filter, carb, exhaust etc. Stock 185R14 commercial tyres front and back.

205/70/15's on the rear of Mine

6 Ribbed 091 Rebuilt by Cogbox with a super diff,

1776cc running external Oil Cooler

80Mph on Speedo = 70Mph Realistically @ 3,200rpm

can quite happily sit at 85mph Real speed @ 4,000rpm

Rev the van past 6k on the track but never past 5,250rpm on the road :D

Oil temperature Gauge is more crucial than a rev counter or speedo, i just gauge my speed from that!

and the 091 box and big tyres help massively, I ran the same engine on a 1600 G/Box and for the same speed was bout 800rpm higher which ment the temp sat higher so i got a slower cruising speed from it ;)

motorway driving, what engine you go and what speed to drive.

micro bus 1600sp 55mph, not to bad mph and the engine sounds sweet.

i past a few other bays going slower. But 2 splitscreen came past me at different points of the jorney pretty fast and they looked standard, whats the deal with them ? is it due to a better gearing after a straight axel swap ?

Yer i tend to stick around 55 - 60 engine dont sound to pushed did 70 on the way to bus types thou!
