Maybe the cut off solenoid on the left hand side isn't working, or not connected?

Dunno about the brakes though, it's non servo drums all round being a 70?

Checked vac attached at both ends. Soleniod working. Thinking a timing issue as engine seem a little lumpy.

If you have a servo and have fidgeted about near the pipes, then there is a chance they are now leaking because they is lod and they got disturbed. Same goes for the vac pipe to the dizzy, as all rubbers deteriorate over time and the newer they are,,,,,,, the quicker they`re shot

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Has you got a servo ?

Yes I have a servo and checked pipes cant see any problems with them. I dont have a vac pipe to dizzy as thr old carb wasnt connected due to the absence of the vacumn on dizzy. Hole on new carb blocked off by pipe and screw. Gonna have another look tomorrow.

Those servo pipes are notorious for this sort of thing when they get old. If you disconnect the servo pipe and block it off where it`s connected and seal it off good and proper then try it with a little test drive, but remember your brakes will feel **** because the servo is off. Then you`ll know if you are on the right track, but don`t crash your bus into anything

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,, Let`s go carefull out there,,OK !! !!

Turned out it wasnt the pipes but the carb. I replaced the original solex 30 pict 2 on my van as was it was causing hesitation with a solex pict 30/31 (brazil made) on the advice of a well known parts supplier. Obviously this upset the servo vacumn pipes , so the original carb was cleaned and put back on and now she goes fine. This duffed carb will returned as not fit for purpose along with a rollocking to their technical chap.
