I'll wind it back 2 degs. Thanks for the advice.

I've found an air cleaner stand but it's in the US. I'll have to make it bolt-on somehow.

Carb tune this weekend and I think the bus will be more useable.
Going back to tuning carb, did you set throttle stop screw before touching anything else?. Must be done or everything else is a waste of time.
Also check choke when cold, flap should be open a tad, not tight shut. If adjustment required slacken the three screws and rotate choke body as necessary, just pinch up screws, often overtightened. Ignore raised marks on casting. You probably know all this anyway. 🙄
Try davidoft for a filter stand.
Which type oil bath have you?, there are 3 types. The later vacuum operated type by far the best.

Adjusted throttle with a feeler gauge and got it spot on.

Not checked choke but it seems to be working well when cold. I’ll add this to my carb tune this weekend.

Air filter is in the shed, I’m guessing it’s a 71 model but I have no idea tbh.

First type have a cable operated flap, the cable is connected to, and is operated by the mechanical thermostat/flap set up.
The next type, one year only, ( my engine had this type on originally, 71 year) , flap is operated by a waxstat operated plunger , these are ok but the waxstat thingys are rarely still working and are unobtainable , worse still they fail shut!, lethal in hot weather , (ask me how i know ) the later vac operated are a very clever set up, just make sure the thermo/ vac switch located in the top of the filter, and the vac operated flap diaphragm are working .
