looking at replacing my dash board lights for brighter ones

where is the best place to get them from ?

Hi mate - got my dash LED's from here http://www.crazyleds.co.uk/286-T5-Capless-LED.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They should last a fair while!

These look a good idea.
How many are needed & are they effected by the dimmer or can you bypass it?
Sorry for the questions, just didn't realise these were an option.

Have them in mine and they work fine - haven't tried to dim them though as I am yet to drive the bus in the dark!
Think 6 is enough to do all the dash lights - I have some normal filaments in reserve

Ive got em in mine too there super bright.
They dont dim and you cant use em in the alternator light but not an issue 100% improvement

Mark

Cheers Mark - wasn't sure about the dimming bit but am sure my alternator/generator light has one fitted and is working fine??
On the pic it looks like my sidelight isn't illuminated but the camera flash made it look that way and it is working fine

Yeah looking good stu while i did mine ive done something to the oil light as its not working now so untill i sort it im gonna be paranoid on long drives :?

Hi Stu,
Those led's you put in look great, are they a direct replacement for the old filament ones in the dash?

J & P
:D :D :D

How did you all get the indicator ones to work? I tried LED's in my indicator dash bulbs and it made the indicators go all dodgy.

If you don't mind playing about with solder and leds and resisters you can do more than just replace like for like, I played with mine and now have purple tint backlights in all my guages as well as led dash indicator lights.

Liking these, so have you only done the warning/indicator lights and not the actual cluster back lights ?

This looks great ...... Was it a easy job to do?

i just replaced mine with new old style ones, after 44 yrs the difference was massive! not sure I could adjust to super bright leds!

Hey weeboll I'm the same I like the subtle lights, where did you get your new old ones?

The LED ones look sweet, but might be a bit too bright for me.
