experienced a fire in the dash on the way into work this morning, caused by a live wire coming loose & shorting against metal work under the dash. managed to stop the engine, pull over & give it a blast from a dry powder extinguisher i keep at arms length in the cab. luckily, the only damage done was one of the ignition wires was completely burnt out. burnt out wire replaced with some i keep in the glove box & i was back on my way within 15 minutes.

big thanks to the old boy who stopped to see if i needed any help? and helped me push my bus off the side of the road.

and if you don't carry any sort of extinguisher, i'd recommend getting one.

thanks, a bit too close in all honesty but i'm just glad i got it under control before any damage was done to the rest of the loom.

however i don't think the geezer behind me was particularly happy with how fast i slammed the anchors on & came to a stop. i'm sure if he'd of seen the smoke & flames he'd of been more understanding.
