Merry Jingle Bells peeps, I`ve got a bit of a decorating issue in the diner bit of our kitchen diner. Just popped a couple of coats of Dulux matt brilliant white on the ceiling throughout L shaped kitchen diner. Also wacked the same paint over the existing deep plum/maroon in a couple coats as a blanking coat to make the new paint cover better over the deep colours. Everything went brill until I tried the new paint over the existing dark colour below the dado, I thought I`ll pop a bit on here first to start getting it covered. The new paint is an off white Dulux Matt Jasmine white emulsion and it`s specifically for kitchens. Now here`s the problem, the new paint goes on either by brush or roller and goes on nice, when you`ve put a few vertical strokes and try to go the other way or spread it a little more it reacts like its already gone off and comes off the wall and sticks to the brush, I`m not talking about a long time like I`ve cut the whole wall in first with a brush, I`m talking about seconds so r3oller up and down for about three foot high under the dado and about eighteen inches wide and that`s what is happening. I left this after doing it last night and it seems to have dried ok, patchy but ok for a blanking coat, but I`m reluctant to go over it as it might peel. Never had an issue like this before, it`s because I wanted to tidy something up and surprise the Mrs,,
