New rotary polisher, its way faster than the DA one, BUT it's almost impossible (for me anyway) to get it perfect without holograms. So I'll use my DA to finish off.

The rear...

Will be spraying the rear hatch, engine lid and rear wings. Did some prep today and found quite a bit of rust in the seal channels. This has happened since I've owned it (may 2019) and must mean there has been water trapped.

I've scraped it out and it is mostly surface rust, applied lashings of rust inhibitor. Hopefully the repaint will protect it from future moisture.

Is there any way of stopping the water being trapped in these areas?

Massive stroke of luck, ran out of petrol just before driving out of the campsite to get petrol! Campsite lent me a Jerry can, brother gave me a lift to the petrol station, put 5L in then resumed my journey to the petrol station! If I'd gone out the gate of the campsite then ran out I'd be blocking the single track road!

Repaint wheels....
So my late bay steel wheels are a bit tatty and chipped so I decided to paint them with cellulose.

Here's some pics....

The second pic shows a weird paint effect that was already there, looks like it reacted with something at some point. I just sanded it flat ready for the primer.
The hub cap it just resting in place at the moment as I'm guessing when I do pop it on it will remove the new red paint where the lugs are.

I keyed these with an abrasive disk and wire brush wheel in my small angle grinder. The front ones are chromed steel and way harder than the rear 2 that are stainless. I think I have a few more flat sides than I started with!

Nice work. Is there a difference between painting chromed and ordinary surfaces?
