Sell the box after you've fitted the clock, someone will buy it....

with or without the bubblewrap? I suppose I could throw that in for free. :msn4:

Only if the bubblewrap is NOS.
NOS bubblewrap, you got me laughing - excellent. Well my bugglewrap has the VW logo, so its extra.

Well that's all you need. As long at it works they clean up easily and you can always change the glass if scratched. Thinking about it, even the Americans sell them for $5-600 a piece.

Cheers for the info, and that clock of yours is a thing of beauty in the box.

This is an example of what they go / sell for:

I paid £60 for mine 4years ago. I have not seen a good, working one for under £100 since. The last one I saw went for £140.

$425?

Never. They aren't actually 'rare' at all.

None of these clocks will ever be as rare as the one I bought off here....
Its an earlybay deluxe clock without the chrome ring!! Looks almost exactly like a 73-75 clock, even the date stamp on the back makes it look like a 73-75
Good job the seller didn't need to send pics as a deluxe clock is a deluxe clock (its no-one on this thread btw)
Still its only for a crossover so what did I expect :msn4:

Should have asked for your money back or name and shame them.

Now bus had a clock fitted (broken by the way) but it had a second hand. So is that a deluxe model or just your everyday Casio? :D

It was quite a while ago now, I was busy with other things and just too angry at getting stiffed to be bothered to do anything about it....
I guess I thought that I would get my money back if I sold it on at some point.
Its still in the box it arrived in somewhere....

I bought this whole gauge cluster with deluxe clock for $20 this year at the Madera Show. Clearly the guy didn't know what it was worth- he probably was getting rid of it because of the broken speedo. I have never seen one go for that cheap- I know that I got lucky.

BUT it does go to show that there are deals out there, you just have to be at the right place at the right time, and have the right amount of money in your pocket. Which, in my case, wasn't very much.

I dig the Type 3 clock conversion. Any pics of the clock installed?

I bought one with a broken glass in the summer off ebay for less than £50, so it is still possible to get bargains off there :)
