Hi guys,

Since I've fitted the rear axle parts again and made everything new, I noticed that the right swingarm (and therefor the whole right suspension) seems to sit a bit higher, say 1/2" .
The left side seems firmer also....

I do have Spax adjustables so the ride wouldn't suffer too much I hope, but I'd like to sort this out...

I do remember putting them at the same height, but I did do the left side months before the right - could this have something to do with it? does one have to do them at the same time or did I miss something?

Cheers lads

the timing won't be the issue.

When you set them at the same height was the van empty or have interior fitted? If not fitted could explain if it's now fitted the interior with uneven weight distribution, like a westy wardrobe?

To get 1/2" difference you;ll have to adjust the inner spline, as 1 outer spline would give a difference of 1 1/2"

Hi there, thanks for the reply - just one question, 'cause I'm not quite with you on the spline adjustment...
How do you go about adjusting the inner spline? I haven't got a clue here, I always thought the rear axle is only adjustable by the swing arm position?
My bus is empty at the moment as I'm still in the process of restoring it...
It is a 04/1968 so pretty early, maybe there are differences?
Thanks guys

I've never done the inner spline but, just know that it's finer adjustment than the outer spline, think Johnny did a sticky post on here re this topic.

If it's not mobile yet i would wait till you get everything back in, Is it higher on the side where most of the interior would go ?

send a pm to slammedresto, sure I have read in his gallery that he has tweaked the inner spline to make his van level.
