Don't know if this will be of any use to anyone - but if you're annoyed that your dipstick sender is way too long and needs bending to keep it away from your top pulley, they can be shortened.....

Use a knife to prise open the connector block

Remove the connectors by heating the solder

Dremmel or junior hacksaw to cut to required length - very careful that you don't damage the inner wire (You can practice by just cutting a smaller section off first if you want)

Tidy up the cut edge with dremmel/file - I also slotted in a piece of heatshrink sleeve to protect the wire. Then spark up the soldering iron to re-attach the connectors, snap the plastic block back in place and hey-presto you're done. Nice and neat down where it should be.....
