I'm going to talk about what I know, and thats what I have... A 1969 Westy (LHD) pop top camper...

To this very day I still am amazed by whats in the rig, and what came with the rig, I mean standing room via a pop top, storage storage storage...and more storage! Its Awesome! The hooks...for the lap belts brillaint...The childs cot for over the front seats! man I could go on....

This is the Question; What do you have that came with your rig (or that you aquired over time), that seemingly has disappeared, or has been long forgotten about...

e.g. -The stool...is something that kinda got in the way and got thrown out...but this is more known of.

I came across, tentioners, for the lap belts in the front (they wind the excess lenth to bring the belt taught). This was before the retractable seatbelt too! Wayy cool.

I also came across, and was wondering if anyone else had one...the storage bag that held all the stuff you threw up on top of the camper secure.

I came across it, with all the leather straps...and material, wayyy cool, I've never seen another...in person...nor in pictures...maybe its because people dont take pictures of the top of their campers but...anywho...

Anything else out there?

That I dont know about or that you found nifty, interesting ahead of its time...?

I have always thought the collaspible table to be brilliant, and the pop-out shelves.

Look forward to hearing your...finds, moments of wow...or inspiration.

Best

Im always impressed with the pop top design - the storage space on the van 'roof' and the access to the roof rack through the vent in the poptop canvass. :)

Hi, I'm exactly the same place having only just acquired my '69 Westy a few weeks ago and finding money to spend that really isn't there! Apparently mine originated from Alaska and has heater and heated rear screen as original or at least factory fitted equipment. Still translating the m plate. I've managed to track down an original jump stool but it came via the USA. Still hunting for a cab bunk, but the help and advice from people particularly on this site is terrific. Just trying to get the balance right between retaining as many original westy features as possible but really enjoying using the bus as a family. I'll be watching your replies with great interest
