Replacing the door seals today do you need to use some sort of glue to keep the riubber in place?

Also bought the ones from Status they seem the right shape just about 2 inches to long!

Any advice very welcome!

dave you`ll need some decent rubber glue , got mine from b and q ...loads of places do it....as for the rubber`s being too big , just squash and gather as you go and it`ll all work out fine....take your time too ...
me fingers are killing me as i`ve been replacing tailgate and sliding door today...looks great though now and draught free yippee

cool i'll buy some rubber glue tomorrow then dont seem to be able to squash them in though!

door sont shut properly either stressing me out

am i doing something wrong?

I know what you mean about looking to long.....................though with the glue in place you can shrink it togeather.

My late bay with new seals never shut properly after fitting, but the early did, prob due to all the welding on the late bay!!

ok managed to glue the first one in shuts like a dream

however the second one which is the drivers side is virtually impossible to shut

lost my temper and ripped it out

there goes £35

replaced mine with jk ones ...they do the job but nowhere near as good as status ...gonna rip mine out and buy some decent ones ....replaced rear and slideing doors with schofield ones and i must say they fit like a glove really well made
ste

Don't want to piss you off more, but most seals throw the doors out when they are first fitted. After a while they bed in.

And there is a knack to fitting them.
I'm only down the road in newark if you need a hand dude, I usually get lumbered with seal fitting to all the vans we spray at work so I'm kept in practice

Hi mate,

I work in Newark so i'll have to bring me van down when i come round to fitting the door seal again lol.

Thanks mate

I know its not the answer your looking for but its a case of what you want doing!
Colours, bodywork, inside and out, strip down and rebuild costs etc etc
All I can say is you don't get a decent job for less than four figures.
Your best bet is to nip to the workshop with the van, have a look at what we've done and discuss what your interested in. (any excuse for me to have a brew and a look round someone elses van  )
01400 282800 is the workshop number, we're there 8 - 5 monday to friday and Rod is normally about at the weekends as well.
