That looks nice Oz, your in danger of having to have a respay to make the outside as pristine as the inside!!

As for CB placement. Mine hangs under the dash with 3 self tappers, utilising 2 holes from a previous auxiliary gauge bracket. Unfortunately with the weight of the rig and the softness of the padded dash it was hanging on by one screw by the time I got home Saturday. Think I’ll mount it next to the drivers seat base (as I did a few years ago, think I ran a supply from the leisure battery fuse box….It will be facing up so I can see the controls (just about at a glance) but not idea….

Yup, on Saturday, I wanted to flick up a coupon channels but couldn’t see the screen with the Chanel numbers on. Instead I had to listen to a couple of drongos rabbitting on about footy drivel. But I’ll get it sorted somehow, maybe just drag it out a tad. I think they really suit the left hand drive vehicles more so with your right hand closer to the set. Or where Andy has his, but my speakers are right in the way there. It’ll sort itself out eventually. Maybe in between the seats is an option and leave out the buddy box , I’ll try that I think.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,, Or in the buddy box praps :)

Electrics! Oh dear.
I’ve been trying to get my head around all the electrics in order to wire up this latest malarkey. So Far, I’ve managed to fit and secure a battery on the leisure side, I’ve fitted a pair of 60 Amp fuses, one to each battery in case of any faux pas type issues. I’ve also fitted a voltage sensitive relay to allow the second battery to get charged up. I’ve plonked a couple of leads from this setup up through the rock and roll bed and up to the now blocked off walk through to a fuse box. I’ve got twin core leads out to my C.B. and to my fridge, plus the charging outlets and the voltages display, I’ve also got a cable wired in ready for the eventual fitting of my heater but still can’t decide if it’s going under the seat or under the rock and roll bed. If anyone has any pros and cons for the various fitting sites, then pleeeeease share and try and influence me.:)
Big thanks to all the guys that have helped me to get my head around this stuff. Justin has been a star with encouragement and bits, same for Joey and Gabs.
Think I’m nearly there but here’s the wiring so far.

The fridge is on sliders in order to open the door wide open and on the opposite side in the cab is the C.B. Mounted on a vented grill type arrangement to allow plenty of air to the rear of the fridge. Above this panel an£ it’s hard to see from the cab are two usb supplies, an on and off power switch and a ciggy lighter plus a charging monitor to see what’s happening.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,almost there just waiting for the BOOM !!!:)

Very professional looking installations. The electrics are my nemesis. But I have some issues I need to address.
Yup exactly that and me toooo. I’ve been wrestling with this for absolutely ages . This looks like about twenty minutes work and in the capable hands of a skilled professional it would probably be that. In my case, this has taken months, months of scheming , researching and buggering it up and getting it wrong and redoing it. Where I’ve run the biggest lead from one battery to the other battery, I ran this lead from the leisure battery through a fuse by the battery to the relay, then up and around the fire wall and exactly the same down the other side by the original battery and I struggled to get a decent fixing so resorted to some home made shenanigans. Joey came round and said “Why didn’t you run it with the other wiring on the opposite side around the rear noisy cupboards hatch and it won’t be seen plus there’s already metal clips there for the wiring” I was actually stunned into silence. I’d planned and looked and thought about it over and over, but not once did I think about an alternative route. Not just alternative, but much tidier and no need to ever move it either, flabbergasted. Now if I was to do it again, I’d do exactly that.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,everyday is a school day :)

This has all gone wrong! :(:)
The universal wiper motor has turned up and it has no park facility on it in the switching arrangement :oops::mad: so if you power it up it’ll just keep going until you switch it off, it cant just do one sweep forward and one sweep back which is how I’d pictured it in my mind. I can Imagine me with ten or twenty Stellas on board and getting another then dropping the controller and bottles of Stella rolling out the van one after the other non stop:unsure: just sometimes even I can’t drink that fast.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,it’d be like Stellamageddon:)
I had that issue with my new wiper motor!!! Wiredin a relay to give me the park facility

Absolutely loved the van story . Mrs k is almost as understanding as Mrs Ozziedog......
In all the time I’ve had this van, and it must be somewhere over a decade but not one and a half, in all that time Mrs Ozziedog has been away camping in it on three separate occasions which were one night in total each. But in all fairness she rarely drags me around the shops with her and some of her coven. I know from bitter experience, that if I’m dragged along to the shops , it’s gonna cost in excess of a grand and possibly three or four. Unfortunately, it’s never a one hit shop, it’s gotta be a drive to Outer Mongolia to ask the advice of the sage monk that lives in a cavern somewhere about a sofa or a whatever several light years away in another distant galaxy yet to be emboldened with a visit from Myself and the lovely Mrs Ozziedog. This could revolve around every weekend for several months then we’ll get something and Mrs Ozziedog can then coooo in front of her coven for ten minutes until she finds out the the lady next door to her sisters dog walker has a niece that’s got a better kitchen table than us

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,AND,,,then it starts again :)

Nice installation Oz, I'm sure you have tested all the circuits as you installed them and your just teasing us with the anticipation of it going boom 😜

As usual you credit me with more grey cells than my pay grade. I don’t know how to test stuff apart from plugging it in and seeing if it works and that’s it. Should get it finished tomorrow apart from its Mrs Ozziedog s birthday.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,lFingers crossed:)

Good work Ozzie well impressed with your wiring as you mentioned it can be challenging sometimes but always good to have your friends on hand for support. Have you fitted your diesel heater at all as that be a life saver camping in the colder weather. Hopefully you be all set for Ninove. I will have to pop up and have a look at all your hard work.

No bud, I’m still not sure where to fit it. So what I’ve done is left a nice big twin core tail all connected to the fuse board with live and earth but no fuse. Still looking for input on best place to fit. It could go under the passenger seat or under the rock and roll bed. I think I’ll try and live with this new interior for a while and that may sway my judgement as to where it’s gonna end up. I’ve got a little less cupboard space but possibly more storage over all . I’d like to get a nice service and oil change before I strike out to Ninove , but I’m gradually running out of time especially as it’s so flippin cold down the back right now. I must be getting on a bit and the blood is getting thinner praps. And you’re always welcome round mine to have a peep.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,we’ll get round it, always do, somehow :)
