Also does anyone know when the Bay Dormobile was first launched ?

Also does anyone know when the Bay Dormobile was first launched ?

In Oct 1961, the Volkswagen Dormobile debuted at the Earl's Court Motor Show (obviously in the guise of a splittie). Dormobile continued their conversions through the 60's on the splittie then the '68 Bay was the first bay conversion incorporating the same Martin Walter roof (but moved forward by about a foot) and the fold out cooker.

In 1970 Dormobile introduced the D4/8 (sleep 4 adults and have 8 forward facing seats)

This is mine,the last time it was at a show and I took a picture,Brighton Breeze last year (picture of mine also in sig).I bought a Westy in the beginning of the year so poor old Dormy was neglected.Now the Westy is possibly sold I can continue getting the Dormy restored,which I prefer over the Westy.The Dormobile has a better interior layout in my opinion.
