Hi,

I'm thinking of throwing some dropped spindles and a narrowed beam on my 71, Anyone got any tips as to which or what to buy?

Cheers,

Chris.

Cheers fellas :D

Slammed nice bus. Wheres your bus sitting at the rear? A notch or two? or are you on adjustable plates?

Chris.

i got mine last year when the dollar was at $2 to the £1

best to email nate direct, mention me and early bay, ive had quite a few sets off him

Another vote for Wagenswest/Creative. I've always had a ball joint beam in my bus (and after spending a couple of hours fixing grease nipples and setting all the link pins on my crewie I know why I like the buses ball joint beam!).

I had the spindles inspected by the metalurgist at Cosworth and he said they were first rate. I also fitted a VDubEngineering brake conversion while I was in there and thats very good too. The spindles were £300 incl import duty last year, the brakes were £230 incl handbrake adaptor and duty.

thats really interesting and also good to know as i have a set, but what did he do? x-ray them?

Thanks again guys.

Nate gave me a quote for the spindles which seems reasonable. Has anyone got any reservations with welded spindles other than bobley. :D

Cheers,

Chris.

On the subject of dropped spindles , did those of you who are running Creative beams and Wagenswest spindles use the narrowed track rods from Creative ? Reading through their site I get the impression that their track rods are not compatible with dropped spindles . Any help on this would be much appreciated , I just want to order my stuff and not run into too many problems !
Thanks

Only had the bus a week, but i'm running T2D dropped spindles and the ride is superb - I can't believe how much better it is than my old traditionally lowered bus
