After 2 years of stripping, beating, pulling, filling, sanding, painting, sanding, painting, rebuilding and MOTing its finally time to do the paperwork.

I purchased the bus as a bit of a wreck from a bloke in Glastonbury in June 2012. Ive done all the hard graft and I'm now ready for number plates, only trouble is that because the bus entered the UK in 2010 and the HMRC forms are the old C&E386 the DVLA won't touch it as its not on the NOVA system which came into place last March (2013). Ive rung DVLA and they say I've got to have the NOVA stuff and to contact HMRC but HMRC say I don't require it as it has the C&E386 and that is all I need.

Funny that really, as we all know that the taxpayers moneys pays for such well organised government offices.

ANY IDEAS WILL GREATLY BE RECEIVED PEOPLE

We've started filling the forms in!!
Wors has been in the country 2 or 3 years now too!!!
Let's see how we get on, eh???
Don't hold much hope like!!! :?

I've just read my original post back and it sounds like a really dodgy 1970's porn script............

Someone else had this recently and I pointed them in the direction of the HMRC office that handles the NOVA system in Manchester.

They were very helpful and issued him a letter saying that no Nova number was required, not sure how he got on that was a couple of weeks ago.

We've already had issues registering buses that do have Nova numbers so it's not a great system, in principle it sounds good with both agencies being able to access the system online but it's still managed by sending letters out and we are in the 21st century
