Hi all

*external regulator*

B+ is the fat red wire from your starter, the others (D+, DF & D-) are connected via a funny little socket to the regulator you haven't got

*good luck*

how dissapointing! Any ideas where i can get one from? Is the 3 pin plug part of the regulator or is the wiring seperate? I found this on JK but it only has 2 wires :?

Ok i have done some research, struggling to get my head round it though, from typing the part number into google, i have come up with this regulator:

with the old engine the wires came out the dynamo into the regulator then on to the battery, with this alternator do the wires just go straight from the alternator into the regulator and stop there? then just connect B onto your battery +? and thats it, no earths?

cheers

The alternator probably earths via the case if i remember correctly. One of the terminals of the voltage regulator needs to be connected to the cable which feeds the gen light on the speedo to provide a voltage sensing circuit too.

Cheers, have been studying the wiring diagrams and all making abit more sense now, got a new regulator off ebay for £11, better than £30 from JK!
