Hi I'm looking to buy some new brake discs for my 1969 bay the problem is on most of the Vw parts stores they say 1971-1972 but no earlier will these be suitable thanks

The short answer is no.
Discs were only fitted from 1971 model year on with different front spindles and wheels to earlier bays.
if you want to keep the wide 5 wheels you'll need an aftermarket kit from the likes of Futbus, CSP, etc...

Thanks for reply.my restorer definitely said break discs could it have had some kind of conversion kit in the past I have a long list of parts to buy and these discs are part of it

As said your bay wont have come with discs, drums all round, so without seeing the items no one can give you an answer we need to know your current hub set up etc.....

Have you got any photos of the Wheels this might give us a clue to what hubs you have.
Is the stud pattern a wide or narrow space.
It is possible someone updated the whole brake setup hubs wheels and all from a later bus
The bay got disc brakes in 1971 and after a year VW changed the setup again for slightly different discs .
So in short you could have an aftermarket setup, a one year only 71/72 , or a late bay one.
