Early bay pop top to tin top conversion in progress

The pop top on Shaun's bay is beyond repair... needing new canvass, all seals and top cover, so we have been asked to remove it and put the van back to tin top... by replacing the roof panel and the original bracing bars

So, I removed the old pop top, and its soooo nice to have all the right equipment to hand

Must make sure you always measure at least 5 times and cut only once to get the correct hole size

It does help if you have a panel ready

I found that it was a good idea to slide the new roof panel onto the van while trying to line up the centre bracing box section on the inside .... just needed to spot weld it into place and then remove the roof panel to give easier access to finish of the welding
